DAY 6 | VENICE TOUR - ROME

Heading for Venice tour.
By this time in the morning, we are in Troncetto as tour manager will organise the ferry to bring us to the heart of this water city. The cruise along the waterways brings us to St. Mark, the centre of the archipelago. While on the ferry, cameras ready on the ferry for this is the only way one could catch a glimpse of the 14th century historic buildings.
Walking tour commences from St. Mark Square. Visit Laguna Glass factory for demo. Later view other monuments: The Winged Lion; the Moor Bell tower; the Basilica of St Mark and the Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sigh. Through the MAZE of Venice old town we head for Rial-to. Beware of pick pockets there. At the Rialto bridge, enjoy the fish market. This place is famous in Shakespeare's play.

After lunch, we will have our Gondola Ride.

Gondola Ride, Venice

Elison & Me - Gondola Boat Ride

While boat ride, he sang song for us
While the Gondola boat ride, the Venetian Gondoliers usually will sing their traditional songs (so called Venetian Gondola Songs). Although I don't understand but I pretty like their beautiful voices with the music rhythm. =) "O Sole Mio ~~~ "

The view while Gondola Boat Ride
After the Gondola Ride, walk around the Venice city. You can get some souvenir if you wish too such as Traditional Venetian Masks, Murano Glass, Gondolier Hats, Burano Lace, Marbled paper, and so on.

Venezia Concerto

Besides that, all of us manage to get lunch at one of the Venice Restaurant (sorry, can't recall the restaurant name) which our tour manager strongly recommended. According to him, the meal that recommended as below:-

Appetizer: The Italian bread with vinegar
Main course: The squid ink pasta & fried seafood platter
Dessert: The Italian Tiramisu & Apple pie cake
Overall Lunch cost around € 10 - 20 / person

If you're asking me the comment...
Umm, I'd definitely said it was mine first time that dine in at Venice Restaurant to have the precious Italian Lunch, of course you may taste how traditional delicious it is, especially the squid ink pasta, although it look dark & Inconspicuous but do ensure to eat gently to avoid the ink sprinkle your face or your clothes. Of course do not talk while you're eating the squid ink pasta, if you get what I mean. :P
Next, the strongly recommended in dessert part - The Venice Tiramisu

Let me share you what Tirami-su means for...
Tirami-su in Italian means 'Pick me up' or 'Lift me up', is a popular coffee-flavoured Italian dessert. It is made of lady-fingers (Italian as 'savoiardi') dipped in coffee, any kind of liqueur (like brandy, TiaMaria, Marsala, etc), layered with a whipped mixture of egg yolks, egg whites, sugar and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with semisweet chocolate / cocoa powder.
Once put in your mouth, you can feel the tiramisu melting in your tongue. It's kinda like a very fluffy, light, mocha flavoured cream cheese mousse with a nip of espresso & liqueur and an after bite of chocolate. If you get chance to try, you will get what I am trying to describe. :)

Lunch at Venice, Italy
Meet at the Venice port as we are returning back to Troncetto coach park, where we head back to hotel.

Triangel doll (Venice) & Me - Bring me Luck

Triangel, Venice

If you do watch the HK drama (Triumph in the Skies I & II), then you will know why tri-angel are so familiar and you may get one of Tri-angel doll for yourself if you want. Above triangel doll I was borrow from my tour mate to have a photo shoot. Pictures to keep as memories.

The Triangel are dolls that bring luck, are entirely handmade in bisque porcelain and have articulated body and painted or glass eyes. The clothes are finished in finest detail, made with fine lace, damask, velvet and trimmings and could be considered unique pieces and collectible items. Each Doll has a certificate of 'Handmade in Venice', with the meaning of each color and the signature of the maker Maria Rita. (source: website)

Here in Troncetto, we board our coach and head south towards Rome city. Stops will be made along the way as we make our journey passing by Bologna; Firenze; and Assisi townships.

Check in hotel for a good night.
